The importance of choosing a diet like the acai berry diet or any other diet is a serious matter. The constant battle to lose weight or just maintaining a weight balance in our life has past from a simple issue of ‘looking good’ to a dangerous leading caused of many different dangerous diseases in the last few years.

Losing weight and maintaining that weight off is one of the hardest things to achieve in life, and this is the results of many complicated and complex factors. One of the reasons that the acai berry diet has become so popular in the last months is its simplicity.

The Acai berry is being called the Number 1 Superfood. The small unassuming Açai berry has been featured on US media such as Oprah, The Today Show, CBS, the Wall Street Journal as well as the New York Times.

In the UK, top media such as the Telegraph, BBC Radio 4, The Times regularly feature the Açai berry as a rewarding and rich source in the essential antioxidants the body must have to maintain and build good health.

Firstly, the acai berry isn’t some “magic key” to weight loss. It’s not an “amazing weight loss secret from the Amazon” that will cause you to lose “20 pounds in one week” as some marketing hype might try to lead you to believe. Ever since the acai berry diet was mentioned on Oprah, crazy products and claims are popping up everywhere.

The acai berry contains Omega fatty acids – the same medically recommended fats found in fish oil, olive oil and flaxseed. These fatty acids can’t be produced by the body, and must be obtained from the food we eat. Instead of being stored as fat, they are used by the liver to “kick-start” the metabolism. If you’re a slow starter when it comes to losing weight, or if you’ve reached the frustrating “plateau” phase of weight loss, adding some form of acai to your diet might be just the ticket to get over the hump.
