Carrying excess fat anywhere on your body is not good for your health, but having fat in your abdominal and tummy area is especially bad for your health. Having excess tummy fat has been linked to numerous health problems. It is worse than having fat stored on the thighs or bottom. Here are some keys to improve the way that you are burning tummy fat.

The first thing that you need to do is to stop drinking sugary drinks.  This includes any type of soda, and it also includes fruit juices and other drinks that contain a lot of sugar. Fruit juices actually have fewer health benefits than you would expect in comparison to how much sugar they contain. It is much better to eat a piece of fruit than to drink fruit juice.

Never skip meals.  A better solution is to eat six small meals per day and plan them out so that you are never hungry. When you are hungry you tend to overeat because of a dip in blood sugar levels. The low blood sugar level causes your body to tell you that you need to be much more than you should. By eating small meals throughout the day you will avoid this problem.

You also need to establish a regular exercise regimen. Having moderate exercise at least four days per week will help to ensure that you are burning tummy fat. You also need to do some mild to moderate weight training in order to maximize the benefits of your exercise program.
